Harness Racing
Harness racing is a form of horse racing, in which specific standardbred horses are bred to trot or pace, as opposed to fast galloping in thoroughbred racing. The jockey or more commonly referred to as the driver rides directly behind the standardbred horse in a two-wheeled cart called a sulky, or spider, competing around an oval racetrack.
The sport is very popular throughout North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand and is fast-paced making the race a spectacle to watch, due to the skills of the driver and the betting entertainment value high.
